The movie "Tokyo Place Canteen" tells the story of a woman named Hideko Mano (played by Iri Katagiri) who was born and raised in Tokyo. She used to be a judge, but chose to resign because of the exhaustion of the trial work. By chance, she came to Oshima, a small Pacific island 120 kilometers away from Tokyo, and opened the second door of her life.

After coming to Dashima, Sunrise decided to open a storage canteen, which is a special way for guests to take food and leave corresponding money. Such canteens are rare in cities, but they have become a feature on the Big Island. Sunrise child lives a simple and free life here, enjoying the good time with the residents of the island.

On the big island, Hichuko met many warm and friendly residents, who intertwined with Hizuko with different backgrounds and stories. On this quiet island, Hichuko re-examined her own life and rediscovered the motivation and meaning of life.
