"When the Wind Rises Again (Cantonese)" is a crime biopic directed by Weng Ziguang, starring Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung, and Du Juan, and featuring a special performance by Xu Guanwen. The film, which will be released in mainland China in 2023, tells the story of a group of policemen fighting against gangster forces and changing the status quo after the establishment of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption in the 1970s

The protagonist of the story is Li Zichao, an investigation director of the Independent Commission Against Corruption, who is dedicated to hunting down corrupt detectives. Through his investigations, a chapter of the colonial era draws to a close. On the other hand, the policemen Nan Jiang and Leile, who were oppressed for not accepting bribes, were determined to change the status quo, established a system of police corruption, and obtained the post of Chief Inspector of Zonghua. However, the expansion of power has led to an imbalance between black and white forces, and Lei Le's wife, Cai Zhen, has incurred the wrath of the underworld for helping them rise to power.
