这部剧主要讲述了四大捕快为保卫国家河山的故事，故事发生在北宋年间，有一处专门处理全国奇案的组织天玑府，天玑府有一帮精英专员，这个组织的权利凌驾于各衙门甚至在六部之上，一次偶然期间，天玑府首领凤南天认识了都尉朱长胜，朱长胜智勇双全，机灵过人深得凤南天重用并收入门下，但是两人因为一次抢劫案分道扬镳，朱长胜带着妻子因此退隐于江湖将近十年，直到这个抢劫案破获，凤南天随着年事已高令校尉马川弓、牛大力、杨茂三人招朱长胜回归天玑府，四个性格各异的四大捕快由此齐聚，四人随后联手屡破奇案，扬名天下。

This drama mainly tells the story of the four major arrests in order to defend the country's rivers and mountains. The story happened during the Northern Song Dynasty. Tianji Mansion, the organization of strange cases across the country, has a group of elite commissioners in Tianji Mansion. The power of this organization is higher than that of other yamen and even above the six departments. During an accidental period, Feng Nantian, the leader of Tianji Mansion, met Captain Zhu Changsheng. Zhu Changsheng is both wise and brave. However, the two parted ways because of a robbery. Zhu Changsheng took his wife and retired to the Jianghu for nearly ten years. Until the robbery was solved, Feng Nantian got older and ordered the school Wei Ma Chuangong, Niu Dali, and Yang Mao recruited Zhu Changsheng to return to Tianji Mansion, and four detectives with different personalities gathered here. Afterwards, the four joined hands to repeatedly solve strange cases and became famous all over the world.
