The movie "Tomorrow's Table" is a touching drama directed by Takahisa Sease and written by Tomoko Ogawa. It will be released in Japan on May 28, 2021, featuring superb performances by actors including Miho Kanno, Mitsuki Takahata, and Machiko Ono. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Michiko Yezuki, who won multiple literary awards. It tells the story of an ordinary but heroic mother and child that happens around everyone.

In the story, we meet two very different women: Rumiko Ishibashi (Miho Kanno) and Kana Ishibashi (Mitsuki Takahata). Rumiko used to be a freelance writer, living a free life with her photographer husband Feng. However, in order to raise her two sons, she temporarily put down her pen, but her inner desire to write never disappeared. In contrast, the young Gana is a single mother. The growth and happiness of her children have become the driving force for her struggle. Although she has been divorced and has no stable job, she persists in living hard.

These two mothers are struggling for their children, and there is a seemingly ordinary but deep bond between them. Rumiko gradually lost herself in the contradiction between family responsibilities and personal ideals; while Kana, after experiencing the pain of divorce, still firmly guarded her children and worked hard to create a happy family. They all have their own persistence and sacrifice, interpreting the greatness and selflessness of maternal love.

The touching moments in the story let the audience have a deeper understanding of mother's love. Rumiko has repeatedly emphasized the importance of writing to her in front of her children, but she also understands that she cannot completely ignore her family. Kana silently allowed the children to pursue their dreams, and at the same time silently supported the whole family for them. In their respective lives, they showed different forms of love, but they all loved their children deeply.
