"Young Friends" is a touching movie. The story happened in the spring of 1979, which was the period of Vietnam's self-defense counterattack. The protagonist, Zheng Bing, is a platoon leader of automobile transportation. He goes to a certain hospital to bid farewell to his fiancée Zhao Lili. However, their views on the safety of the country and their personal happiness have diverged, causing a rift in their love. Zheng Bing rushed to the front line with inner distress

On the way to the front line, Zheng Bing met Zhao Zhenzhen, Zhao Lili's younger sister. Zheng Bing and his comrades arrived at the field ambulance station to carry out the task of transporting the wounded. The ambulance decided to send two nurses to each car to take care of the wounded, and the nurses they sent were actually Zhao Zhenzhen and a group of naughty female comrades he met on the train. As the war progressed, these young friends wrote a magnificent song of youth on the front line.

In this story, we witness the heroic deeds of Liu Xiaojia, an innocent and lively female nurse who loves music. In a battle where the enemy bombarded our ambulance station, in order to rescue the wounded, she braved the enemy's artillery fire and waded across the river alone, but unfortunately was shot and died. Another rural soldier, He Jianwu, grew up by the Yellow River. When our convoy was ambushed by the Vietnamese secret service, the oil tanker was hit and caught fire, facing the danger of explosion. In order to keep the safety of the convoy and his comrades in arms, he risked his life to drive away the tanker, and finally gave his life.
