刘苹果（范冰冰饰）和她的丈夫安坤（佟大为饰）都是外地来北京打工的普通人。刘苹果在一家足疗店当"洗脚妹"，而安坤则是一名高空作业的窗户清洁工，拥有一份相对高薪的工作。然而，意想不到的事件发生了。一次，足疗店老板林东（梁家辉饰）趁着刘苹果喝醉后强行对她进行了强奸，而这一幕正好被正在清洗窗户的安坤撞见。安坤要求林东赔偿他们的损失。

然而，令人意外的是，林东的妻子（金燕玲饰）因为自己不能生育而备受冷落，于是主动要求与安坤发生性关系，目的是让自己的丈夫也背负着“绿帽子”，以实现报复。

Liu Pingguo (played by Fan Bingbing) and her husband An Kun (played by Tong Dawei) both came to Beijing from other places to work ordinary people. Liu Pingguo works as a "foot washing girl" in a pedicure shop, while An Kun is a window cleaner who works at heights and has a relatively high-paying job. However, unexpected events happened.
