蓬莱岛传说中是古代神之岛，秦始皇曾派徐福率领三千童男童女寻找蓬莱，寻求长生不老之方。岛上居住着人类、妖怪和半妖，和谐相处，过着自由自在的生活。为了保护岛上的半妖不受伤害，巫女奏施法让蓬莱岛隐匿，每隔50年才会在浓雾中显现一次。然而，邪恶的四斗神趁着小岛结界虚弱之际潜入，污染了鸣动之窑，对岛上居民进行无情统治和屠杀。

戈薇来到战国时代的50年前，犬夜叉曾和桔梗乘船登上蓬莱岛，结果遭遇四斗神。在交战中，犬夜叉的力量被四斗神封印。

50年后，蓬莱岛再次出现。半妖阿蓝趁机逃出，却遭到四斗神一路追杀，幸运的是被犬夜叉一行人救下。为了拯救岛上的居民，犬夜叉、戈薇等人决定踏上蓬莱岛。另一方面，阿蓝的姐姐浅葱决定跳入鸣动之窑，以保全兄弟姐妹们的性命……
