《数风流人物》讲述的是从1919年探索救亡图存的青年志士们的振臂高呼，一直到1949年中国人民共和国成立的励志故事。

五四运动的爆发，让李大钊，陈独秀这些优秀的共产党人开始探讨中国如何走出困境而展开会议。会议当中，众人决定要利用马克思主义而拯救中国。此次会议是在湖南的一艘游船上而展开，这就是传说中的中共一大，参加会议的包括毛泽东在内的13个人，在确定了这样的目标之后，开始去往全国各地为了将马克思主义的思想传播给志同道合的人。在发展群众力量的同时，周恩来，向警予，翟秋白以及蔡和森等这些人也认同了中国共产党的号召成为了骨干人物。经历了30年的艰难险阻，中国共产党终于崛起，在1949年成立了中华人民共和国，向人们书写着中华之崛起，向人们阐述着中国前进道路的精神。

The outbreak of the May 4th Movement led Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu and other outstanding communists to start a meeting to discuss how China could get out of the predicament. During the meeting, everyone decided to use Marxism to save China. The meeting was held on a cruise ship in Hunan. This is the legendary First National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The 13 people who attended the meeting, including Mao Zedong, set out on such a goal and began to travel all over the country to bring Marxism to life. The idea of ism is spread to like-minded people. While developing the power of the masses, Zhou Enlai, Xiang Jingyu, Zhai Qiubai, and Cai Hesen also agreed with the call of the Chinese Communist Party and became key figures. After 30 years of hardships and obstacles, the Communist Party of China finally rose and established the People's Republic of China in 1949, writing about the rise of China and explaining to people the spirit of China's way forward.
