晚清末年，国家腐败，民不聊生，以孙中山（赵文瑄饰）为代表的革命派决心推翻腐败的清政府。从1985年到1910年期间，革命党人多次起义，秋瑾等革命者用自己的鲜血为革命的成功铺路

1910年底，孙中山召集海外革命者在广州发动起义，由黄兴（成龙饰）和徐宗汉（李冰冰饰）假扮夫妻，秘密潜入广州，可是最终广州起义因寡不敌众而失败。大批革命者被杀，黄兴因此身负重伤，不过他还是冒着生命危险收葬了烈士遗体。

在武昌熊秉坤、金兆龙等人攻占了总督府，打响了革命的第一枪。武昌起义举国震惊，消息并传到了美国。孙中山等人士气大增，派黄兴和徐宗汉奔赴武昌昌，这一对假夫妻在革命战火的淬炼成为真正的革命伴侣。

苟延残喘的清政府请袁世凯出面镇压革命军，而孙中山被当选为首任大总统。孙中山和袁世凯谈判，用自己的总统之位来换他推翻清政府。

From 1985 to 1910, revolutionaries revolted many times, and revolutionaries such as Qiu Jin paved the way for the success of the revolution with their own blood

At the end of 1910, Sun Yat-sen summoned overseas revolutionaries to launch an uprising in Guangzhou, which was disguised by Huang Xing (Jackie Chan) and Xu Zonghan (Li Bingbing) Husband and wife sneaked into Guangzhou secretly, but in the end the Guangzhou Uprising failed because it was outnumbered. A large number of revolutionaries were killed, and Huang Xing was seriously injured, but he still risked his life to bury the remains of the martyrs.

In Wuchang, Xiong Bingkun, Jin Zhaolong and others captured the Governor's Mansion and fired the first shot of the revolution. The Wuchang Uprising shocked the whole country, and news spread to the United States. Sun Yat-sen and other people's morale increased greatly, and they sent Huang Xing and Xu Zonghan to Wuchang. This fake couple became real revolutionary partners after being tempered by the revolutionary war.

The lingering Qing government asked Yuan Shikai to come forward to suppress the revolutionary army, and Sun Yat-sen was elected as the first president. Sun Yat-sen negotiated with Yuan Shikai, exchanging his presidency for him to overthrow the Qing government.
