这是张国荣生前的拍摄的最后一部电影，在电影中张国荣扮演了心理医生罗占，章昕（林嘉欣饰演）是罗占的一个患者，章昕入住的地方总能看见鬼魂，大呼小叫每天夜不能寐，男友也因此饱受精神折磨从而提出分手。罗占来到章昕所住的房间里，觉得空间有些密闭，而章昕也长期被孤独情绪困扰，那些鬼魂都是她自己胡思乱想出来，也成功帮助章昕走出了恐惧思维，两人爱上了彼此。

可当章昕真正走近罗占之后，才发现，罗占其实心里问题更加严重，他的一些行为也非常怪异，原来罗占患有严重的精神分裂症，眼里所能看到的幻觉比章昕更加严重，章昕意识到情况的严重性，开始大胆尝试帮着他驱除心中的梦魇。

其实罗占之所以会产生心里困扰，是因为初恋女友因他自杀，所以女人的身影无时无刻不出现在面前折磨他，最终罗占也表达了自己对前女友的愧疚之情，释放了心结。
